HERTA-Amir

Herta Amir attended Queens College in New York City where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Then, Herta attended Harvard Graduate School and later pursued an M.A. in Economics from the University of California – Los Angeles.

 

She began her professional career while working for the National Bureau of Economic Research. She then worked in the Economics Department at Rand Corporation for a near 10 year tenure. In 1972, Herta joined her husband, Paul, at Amir Development and quickly took hold of office operations and leasing within the company. She also served on the Board of Fairmont Financial, Inc., a publicly held insurance and financial services company. Together with her husband, Herta raised two daughters and she has six grandchildren.

 

In recent years, Herta has had extensive involvement with political and philanthropic organizations, including her membership on the Board of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
